Take Part

The Festival provides something for everyone, and getting involved is as easy as spending a day at the beach. While the whole Festival is an opportunity to join thousands of New Zealanders in action and adventure, there are three main ways to get involved:

  1. Come to one or more of the Beach Days - there are 10 scheduled.

  2. Come to one or more of the Wild Nights - there are 6 scheduled.

  3. Join in for part of the Adventure - we've designated 10 'safe' beaches for walking.

Beach Days

Spending a day at the beach is something everyone can relate to, that's why getting involved is fun and easy. The 'Beach Days' are a vibrant collection of schools, community groups, artists, musicians, travelers, and everyone in between. Each enjoying a 'market-like atmosphere' with entertainment, creative beach action, clean ups, planting native trees and much more. Our aim is to plant at least 1000 native trees, remove and process at least 10 tonnes of waste, and educate at least 1000 students throughout the Festival. Getting amongst the Beach Day action is totally free, we'd love you to be involved - it's as easy as turning up to your local event.

We've scheduled eight key Beach Days but already others are being organised on their own, if you know of any other beach days being organised en-route please let us know and we can help publicise them.
